Feeder is a British band that I got wind of about three years ago when they put out their last album (Comfort In Sound). They are kind of like a less-wussy Coldplay, minus the piano, in terms of their song styling. The songs are quite melodic, layered, and distorted, while remaining somewhat varied. I saw it described as a "mixture of raving American-type rockers and wistful mid-tempo ballads".
I found this album to be quite similar to 'Comfort in Sound'. A few songs really stand out and many of the rest are quite disappointing. I don't really like the flow of the album from song-to-song, either. The first track, 'Feeling a Moment' gets the album off to a great start, I liked this track a lot. But then they don't do anything with this great start, the next three tracks don't build on the energy that's been generated. Track 5 is the title track, and this is probably my favorite song. I would be surprised if this didn't get radio play here. It has a great tempo and sound. But once again, they fail to take advantage of this, following it up with the worst track on the whole album. Fortunately, track 7 is another winner, 'Morning Life', with an awesome opening riff and a catchy beat.
The last three tracks don't really do much for me either. Another one of those bands that seems to have so much promise but just can't quite put out a complete album.
The verdict: 6/10
